Yes! We will have both a Traditional and Gluten-Free Cookie Table at our wedding. We would be honoured to have any of our loved ones participate in our cookie table, as well!
The Cookie Table is a Pittsburgh tradition that originated during the Great Depression where in addition to a wedding cake, a table with different cookies is presented to guests during the reception. Cookies are generally prepared by friends and family members in advance of the reception. All of the cookies (and the love baked into them) are displayed and enjoyed together.
There are usually to-go boxes, too, for everyone to appreciate everyone's culinary expertise after the wedding is over.
You can reach out to the couple and let us know if you are interested or with any questions about the cookie table.
Yes! Cocktail Attire
October 31st, 2024
If there is a special circumstance we will try to be accommodating but unfortunately, we have chosen not to extend any invitations to children.
When completing completing the RSVP questionnaire, please provide all allergies or intolerances. We will be having a seated dinner to prevent any cross-contamination and easily accommodate any dietary restrictions.
All food will be gluten-free unless otherwise noted (such as the Traditional Cookie Table which will be clearly labelled).
Thankfully, the venue is completely wheelchair-friendly. There is a level parking lot right outside The Garden Room (where our ceremony will be held) with handicapped parking available. There are no stairs between the parking lot and The Garden Room. If you would like to see the exhibits, there is also a ramp available.
Yes, this will not be a dry wedding. However, no outside alcohol is permitted on the premises.
Non-alcoholic and diet beverages will be available.
If you don't want to bring a guest, that is perfect! We just wanted to provide the option because it is always nice to have support if you aren't in The Buddy System!
There is a parking lot on-site with comfortable parking on a flat lot. The parking lot is accessed through the entrance on Arch Street.
Yes! The Ceremony and the reception will be inside the Aviary but not in the exhibits. However, the exhibits will be open during and we will have two Avian Guests visiting during Cocktail Hour.
That is perfect! The exhibits and the Avian Encounters are optional. You are more than welcome to just enjoy the wedding without ruffling your feathers.
I would recommend visiting the 'Explore Pittsburgh' tab at the top of the page to see what Pittsburgian treasures might spark joy for your trip.
Additionally, under the 'Travel' tab we have the Hotel Block and other helpful Travel information.
